It depicts the events of September 11th through the eyes of those who lived through the wars that followed. Afghan war rugs emerged during decades of conflict, when weavers began documenting the world around them through their craft — tanks, helicopters, aircraft, and historic events woven directly into the wool. Each rug is hand-knotted and tells a story no factory could replicate.
